"A small church with a big heart, in a beautiful situation on the slopes of Robinswood hill"
Pam, Church warden
St Katharine's Matson is a warm and welcoming church community who love to welcome both visitors and those thinking of making St Katharine's their home. Part of Gloucester Diocese, we share the "LIFE Vision" and commitment for all to discover the good news of Jesus and live life in all its fullness (John 10.10)
The church is situated at the foot of Robinswood hill on the edge of the historic city of Gloucester, and is known for its own history in the battle of the Roundheads and Cavaliers. Stretching back to the 12th century there is a long history of worship on the site of St Katharine's, where the current picturesque Cotswold stone church was built in 1851.
A quintessential countryside church set in a churchyard of fine trees and Celtic crosses, this beautiful building can hold up to 120 people for celebrations and services.
Churches are special and unique places to celebrate or mark special life events.
St Katharine's is especially popular for weddings. It is a beautiful, unique and popular place to celebrate your special day. The prayers, promises and the whole service of celebration become part of your marriage, on the day itself and beyond.
