Our Vision

at St Katharine's Matson & St Barnabas Gloucester

At St Barnabas and St Katharine’s, our vision is simple and deeply rooted in the love of God:
Sow generously. Nurture lovingly. Grow faithfully.

This vision shapes everything we do — in worship, in community, in service, and in everyday life. In a world that often feels chaotic and uncertain, we are committed to staying rooted in the truth and hope of the Bible, letting Scripture guide our steps as we reach out in love.

Together, we’re learning to live out our faith — to Sow, Nurture, and Grow — grounded in the Bible, rooted in Christ, and ready to share his love with a changing world.

You are warmly invited to be part of that story.

Living God's way

We want to live God’s way because His way leads to life — full, hopeful, and rooted in love.
In a world of shifting values and deep need, we trust that God’s wisdom is steady and good.
We believe that following Jesus shapes us into a people of compassion, justice, humility, and grace — a light in our community and a sign of hope for all.
Living God’s way doesn’t always mean easy answers, but it does mean walking in truth, held by love, and led by the Spirit.

Sow – Reaching Out with God’s Love

We believe every person matters to God. That’s why we’re committed to sowing seeds of hope, faith, and friendship in our neighbourhoods and beyond.

Whether through community partnerships, local schools, warm spaces, or acts of kindness, we want to be a church that is present — planting signs of God’s love wherever we are.

Nurture – Building Faith and Friendship

We want to be a place where people can grow in faith, ask big questions, and find genuine support.

Through prayer, small groups, worship, and practical care, we create spaces for people to be known, loved, and encouraged — at every age and stage of life.

Grow – Becoming More Like Jesus

God’s work in us doesn’t stop — it grows.

As we follow Jesus, we long to become more rooted in Scripture, more open to God’s Spirit, and more united in love.

We want to grow as disciples, deepen our understanding, and become a community marked by joy, grace, and spiritual maturity.
